BHACDI Co-Organizes the Inauguration of the Chanchaga Local Government Interfaith Committee

Baobab Hatua Community Development Initiative (BHACDI) was honoured to co-organize the inauguration of the Chanchaga Local Government Interfaith Committee, held at the Chanchaga Local Government Conference Hall in Minna, Niger State.

The event brought together government representatives, faith leaders, and community stakeholders to strengthen collaboration, promote peaceful coexistence, and encourage dialogue among diverse communities.

As an organization committed to peacebuilding, social inclusion, and sustainable community development, BHACDI recognizes that lasting development depends on strong partnerships and continuous engagement with local institutions and communities.

The inauguration marks an important step toward strengthening community-based mechanisms for promoting understanding, preventing conflict, and fostering unity across faiths and cultures within Chanchaga Local Government Area.

BHACDI appreciates the Office of the Senior Special Assistant to the Chairman of Chanchaga Local Government on Interfaith Matters for the collaboration and all stakeholders whose commitment contributed to the successful inauguration of the committee.

We remain committed to working alongside government institutions, community leaders, civil society organizations, and development partners to advance peaceful, inclusive, and resilient communities across Niger State and beyond.

BHACDI Engages School Leadership and Community Stakeholders to Advance Quality Education

As part of its commitment to improving access to safe, inclusive, and quality education, Baobab Hatua Community Development Initiative (BHACDI) conducted a follow-up stakeholder engagement visit to Gbangwanpi Primary School in Sauka Kahuta, Minna, Niger State.

Building on an earlier needs assessment, BHACDI met with the school's Principal, Vice Principal I, Vice Principal II, the Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) Chairman, and representatives of the School-Based Management Committee (SBMC) to discuss the school's priority infrastructure needs and identify collaborative pathways toward sustainable improvement.

The engagement provided an opportunity for stakeholders to share their perspectives, validate key observations from the initial assessment, and reaffirm their commitment to improving the learning environment for pupils and teachers.

Through open dialogue and active participation, the meeting highlighted the importance of community ownership, institutional collaboration, and evidence-based planning in addressing educational challenges. Stakeholders also expressed their willingness to work alongside BHACDI and prospective development partners to create safer, more conducive learning spaces for children.

The visit forms part of BHACDI's broader efforts to mobilize partnerships and resources aimed at strengthening educational infrastructure and expanding opportunities for quality learning in underserved communities.

BHACDI extends its sincere appreciation to the school leadership, PTA, SBMC, and the entire school community for their warm reception, cooperation, and shared commitment to improving educational outcomes for every child.

Niger State Library Heritage Safeguarding Engagement

BHACDI Initiative participated in a site engagement at the ongoing Niger State Library intervention in Minna, following the damage caused by a severe windstorm in April 2025.

The engagement provided an opportunity to observe ongoing efforts aimed at safeguarding cultural heritage materials and strengthening public learning infrastructure.

The library remains a critical resource for writers, students, researchers, and community members, with thousands of historical documents requiring urgent preservation.

This engagement reflects BHACDI’s continued interest in cultural preservation, community resilience, and sustainable development initiatives.

Community Environmental Awareness and Clean-Up Activity

BHACDI Initiative supported community-level environmental awareness efforts focused on improving public spaces and promoting responsible waste management practices.

The activity highlighted the importance of collective responsibility in addressing plastic waste and strengthening environmental sustainability at the community level.

Such engagements reinforce the need for practical, locally driven solutions to environmental challenges and support broader climate resilience efforts.

Digital Inclusion and Community Capacity Engagements

BHACDI Initiative continues to explore opportunities for strengthening digital literacy and capacity-building initiatives within communities.

These engagements aim to bridge digital gaps, improve access to information, and support skills development for improved community participation in a knowledge-driven economy.
